Free Fonts

Font selection is the most important part of design. A well chosen font can alleviate so much design work. There are tons of free font sites all over the internet, most of them containing anything but fonts that came standard on PC’s over 5 years ago. There is one site I always go to for free fonts, dafont.com. Not only do they have the fonts well organized by theme (Greek, Script, Trashed, etc.) but also by name. Be weary that some of the fonts are commercial and come with a ‘for personal use only’ disclaimer in the README file, and some are commercial and have had the name changed, so it may be difficult to find a font by its actual name.
Free fonts are good, but fonts that require a license are even better. They are much more unique and usually will create less problems as far as consistency in different applications.
dafont.com logo: good, slightly tilted, two colors, negative space out of red box, neutral font for a font site, nice choice.
